This week, Sri Lanka is expected to call tenders for the 50-megawatt wind plant in Northeast Mannar.
Kanchana Wijesekara, Minister of Power and Energy, said that a lot of investors are showing interest, adding that they plan to call tenders for 10 wind and solar plants from local and foreign investors.
Regarding pricing, a recent bid for a 100-megawatt renewable plant in Siyambalanduwa, which is expected to be connected to the national grid by the end of 2025, came in at around 25 rupees or 8 US cents per unit.
