Today, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the electricity sector reforms bill, announced Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara.
Furthermore, he stated that the amended version of the new electricity sector bill has been granted approval to be gazetted and presented to Parliament for approval.
The bill is scheduled to be gazetted this week and presented to Parliament in the last week of April.
Upon presentation to Parliament, the public will have two weeks to challenge the bill.
